Andrew's summer

Remember the taste of the salty water when the waves crashed over me
as I lay on the surf board and tried to stand up?
Remember the waves knocking me off the bogey board and onto the hot sand?
That was summer.

Remember when I jumped into the cold water and I was shaking so much I had to get out and sit in the warm sun?
Remember the ice cream melting down my front?
That was summer.

Remember when I got chocolate and I gave some to my sister and it melted so she couldn’t eat it?
Do you remember the smell of the flowers at Victoria Park?

That was summer.

Journey to Tangiwai

There's a boy that is always late for school.
A bridge falls down and the train falls down  into the river.

Time to play the drums

When it was Wednesday we went to Strike Percussion in the hall. When I got into the hall there were drums on poles. I liked when they played the drums that were on the poles because it was loud.  They played with sticks. It was the first thing they did.
