Waimate!
Waimate is a small town in between Timaru and Oamaru in the South Island. Not everyone know about Waimate. The gardens are so beautiful. It makes me feel so happy. The schools are perfect. The animals are cute and soft. The people in Waimate are mostly friendly. What is your favourite state or place?
My favourite place is lazer tag because it has lots of cool lazers and I can pretend to shoot people with them.

Hi,
ReplyDeleteI would like to ask you why your blog is called Ruma kakapo?
Hi,
ReplyDeleteit's Mrs Rehmann here, Ruma Kakapo's teacher. I am replying because the children have gone home and they won't be able to reply until next week.
Our classrooms are all named after native New Zealand birds. "Ruma" is Maori and means "room". We are Ruma Kakapo because four years ago when we changed our room names from numbers to birds, I chose the kakapo.
The kakapo is a flightless parrot that is unique to New Zealand. It is highly endangered. In fact, only about 125 kakapo remain.
The other classrooms are called tui, pukeko, piwakawaka, weka and kea.
I hope that helps!
