Matariki

In New Zealand, most people celebrate Matariki. Matariki is the Maori new year.

Some thing's you can do to celebrate Matariki are:
Learn to weave and flax
Make and fly  kites
Share family stories
Learn about the land
Gather fish and kai moana

Matariki is a group of seven, Called a constellation. You can see them thirty minutes before dawn.

Matariki has three names. They are seven sisters, Subaru and Pleiades but it might have more, we don't know.
 
Matariki is a group of seven it is made up of 500 but we can only see six or seven. That is because sometimes the 7th one goes behind another one.

It starts late May or early June and it ends late April.

Next week our school's kapa haka group is going to the Matariki festival. I am one of the people who are going to Matariki.

One year my grandma and I went out looking for the seven sisters
at dawn. We couldn't find them because they were out the north side of the house. When we looked out the south, west and east side
of the house.

The frog eating girl (Take 5)

One day Amy was down the street and saw a delicious frog so that day she took it home. She had to hide from her mum because she hated frogs.
That night Amy set on a request to sneak the frog into the kitchen, grab the saucepan and cook the frog for dinner. She ate it as fast as she could so her mum wouldn't find out.
The next minute Amy burped. Her mum asked what she had been eating.

When KAKABRO and I got home I got out of my school uniform  while KAKABRO sat down and watched TV. He watched Victorious.Then we wrote this story. After that we played with Sophie and Genna. Then we had dinner. For dinner we had nachos. After that we got an easter egg from Margot then we brushed our teeth and went to bed.Thank you Mrs Rehmann for sending KAKABRO home with me.

Take Five

It was Waitangi Day. It was really sunny and hot outside so Lucy decided to go for a swim at the town pool.
When she went to go get her togs, she heard a creepy sound but she carried on, and then she heard it again. Then she ran outside. There was something shiny shining in her eyes. It was gold.

It all started when...   The captain asked me to get his dinner so did the pirates.So I walked to the chef.While chef was cooking their dinner I went to clean the deck then the order flew out of my pocket then the dinner was ready and chef for got to tell me who's was who's so I gave the captain's dinner to the pirates and the pirates dinner to the captain.So he made me walk the plank

Secret hiding spot

Auckland

In the term three holidays I went up to Auckland to see my cousins Amy and Ben. Amy is 11 and Ben is 8. The day after we arrived we scooted to the snakes and ladders playground. I came second. When we were going back to Christchurch we saw Jason of NZ got talent. Quinn dared Ben to go give him a hug but Ben didn't. 

Kiwican

Every Wednesday we have kiwican. Dom and Tim take us for it we do it in the hall.We play all sorts of games and other stuff to do with respect. At the end Tim Dom and Mrs Rehmann would add up all our points.After that people that were good all week in class they would become King or Queen and before next Wednesday they would have to come up with a question for next week. the King would pick a Queen and the would pick a new King.

A scientist is a person who discovers new things like chemicals and laptops. They use special containers measuring cups and spoons. They also wear special goggles to protect their eyes. There are also different types of scientists, for example: zoologist, biologist, geologist, astronomers.
