Exciting writers

As part of our exciting writers unit, some children chose to present a play based on a book by a New Zealand author.

Here is Angus' setting for "Seesaw Po".

Summary of Sam'nTommy and the Snakeman

Sam'n'Tommy get kidnapped by the Snakeman and get lost in the bush with little food. Will they get found? They walk down the river and steal food from a grandad who tries to shoot them.

Farming is fun to do

Farming is cool to do.You get to see sheep and cows and all the other animal so, lets get started.


Summer
In Summer we are harvesting.When its full we go up beside the truck or trailer and we drive back home to unload the truck or trailer and it goes up the auger into the huge silo.

All year round we send grain to the dairy shed.

The we burn paddocks.

Autumn

In Autumn we are shearing sheep.
it takes three days to get them all done .
We plough lots too.
In Autumn there's alot to do with tractor baling,working up paddock.
We feed chickens all year round.
All Autumn we are in tractor

Winter
In winter we get heaps of cows from dairy farms and calves too. 
They come off the truck into our new cattle yards.
Then we put them in a paddock.
After four days we put them in a chow paddock and we feed them silage and hay because we are short of feed in the Winter.
It is fun on my motorbike because it is muddy.
At the end of Winter the cows go home.



Spring
Spring is the best part of the year. (It lambing time)
Its fun because I get pet lambs.
We look after 20 lambs a year because they have no Mum and that's how I found my best friend Buddy. (my best pet lamb).

Golden things!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One afternoon I went to the library and I found a piece of paper. It had three things to find. To find more treasure the first thing I had to find was a rainbow candle with gold in it. The next thing I had to find was a golden crystal and the last object I had to find was a golden egg so I set off. When I got all the things the BIG thing a golden kiwi that laid golden crystal.

Going to Bens house

In the weekend I went to Ben's house .When we got their we played with my toys then we had tea for tea we had steak ,eggs and chips then we played till 9:30 then we went spotlighting and shot two wallaby's and nine rabbits and that was fun !!!!! then it was time for bed .The next day we went fishing 5 minutes into it I got a fish.

THE BEST THING IN THE HOILDAY

THE BEST THING in the holidays was that my friend Brett came for the day and when we went and got him. We had to help my dad get cows to the yards and Brett and I had to stand in the gate way and Keygon came and got us. Then we went home and built a hut and we built three with battens and there was no nais and we went on the bike trailer and we put our boots out the door( at the back that's how you get in) and we pushed them into the ground and they would fal off! Ad we would yell stop! and we would have to go and get them and my boots came off the most.

FARMING/LAMBS AND DOGS.

I like to go on the farm with my Dad.It is fun going on the farm with my Dad because Iget to see all the cute lambs in spring and geting pet lamb.They are fun to feed and to play with them.The dogs come to help get all the sheep and lambs to dock.Docking is when we put rubber rings around their tails.

NZ Citizenship

A NZ citizen is a person who has NZ citizenship. You can stand for parliament and yon can stand for PM of New Zealand and become an All Black captain.
There are three ways to become a New Zealand citizen.
If you were born in New Zealand you are NZ citizen.
(by birth)
The second way is by descent, that is when your Mum or Dad is a New Zealander you are one too.
The third way is by grant. First you have be permanent resident for 5 years. Next you need to fill out a form.

My holiday

In the holidays I went to Queenstown for four nights. We left in the morning and we got there at three o'clock On Monday we went on the Kingston flyer. It is a big steam train. It goes from Kingston to Fairlight. It is half an hour.On Tuesday we went for a walk at the park and played in the leaves and I jumped on the leaves.We went out for tea two times and we went to cookie time and I won a free cookie. My room had a big TV.

Binky the goat

Binky the goat came to Centennial. He is so cute. Binky's fur is so soft. When I fed him it sounded very funny. His eyes are blue.

We have a kakapo in our classroom.
He is awesome. I am going to play
Monopoly with him. He will be cool.
