Exciting writers

As part of our exciting writers unit, some children chose to present a play based on a book by a New Zealand author.

Here is Angus' setting for "Seesaw Po".

Summary of Sam'n` Tommy and the Snakeman

Pauline Cartwright is a very famous writer.
This is a book about Sam and Tommy. Sam and Tommy get kidnapped by the Snakeman. Sam has to steel food from the angry man.

When I go to the sea
I always see speedy fish
Jumping dolphins
And wavy waters
I taste sea water
And icky sand
Buy yummy fish
I hear booming waves
And shouting kids
I hear dolphins
And blowing wind
Nosy seagulls that can be annoying
I smell tasty fish
And yucky seaweed
I feel crashing water
Pushing waves
And breeze wind that feels quite nice

Take five

I am Jack. I go to zoo school.
One day I stole the teacher's new saucepan and they caught me and abolished me.
5 months later they wanted me back. 
I got a request.
The next day I went back to school. They had bought a frog while I was gone. When it saw me it hid in the bush.

holidays

In the holidays it was Corey's birthday. He had a  big party and there were heaps of people there. It was fun. There was a gross thing where Corey drank a huge glass as big as me. Inside of the glass there was beer, it was called a yardy. He started to spew, it was gross.  I stayed there for a long time. We got meat patties and sausages. I had an awesome time.

In the weekend on Saturday Max went to Nana's house and I went to nany Joan's house because mum and dad where going to Christchurch to pick up a sliding door and a window. At nanmy Joan's house I played xbox. It was fun. When they got back it was 3 o'clock. We drove home after that then we went to bed in the morning.

A  scientist

A scientist works in lab and asks a lot of questions. They find out about animals and other stuff. They need to wear safety goggles.

Today we did some stuff using Jacks bike. it looked very hard when Jack & Chris lifted the bike up the stairs. It looked easier when Jack & Chris went down the stairs.

I learnt that 13 people have blue eyes and 9 people don't.

I learnt that you have to keep track of who you have ask because you might ask someone twice.

Next time I will work faster and ask more questions
